I have a queen size bed, a dresser, 6'-6" wall unit and an old locker style truck. The mustard orange is the popular color on the Chevrolet sportscars. I am wanting to give the room a southern European look to it.
Yes, it would look fine. I think that people are thrown off by the word "orange" but a mustard orange and black furniture would look fine. Are you buying the furniture? or your already have it? if its going to be bought maybe go toward an espresso which will be a little warmer than the black.

any colour at all will go with white. Black would probably go really well for that dramatic look

I can find the XL mattress and the simple metal frames. Are there any nice furniture grade beds (like platform beds or locker style beds with drawers) for the XL size twin? I don't see him getting shorter any time soon....

The only place that I can find it is fantasytoyland.com and it is 160.00 and that is a little ridiculous for kids bedroom furniture.

Where I see a beautifully carved wooden box, she sees a unique piece of wall art. Where I see file cabinets, she sees the makings of a customized desk. Where I see an old record cabinet, she sees a nightstand. And so it goes.
Jackson, in the furniture industry for 25 years, is also an independent designer. Her own home is a constantly changing showroom.
"I've had clients with a lot of money and clients who hardly had any," says Jackson, who counts Habitat for Humanity's ReStore shop, 804 W. Main St. in Peoria, and secondhand stores as among her favorite haunts and sources of inspiration. "You would think because I work in the industry that I would have all new things, but I don't.
"Sometimes, as my mother always said, 'Maybe I don't feel very good, but if my hair looks nice, then I feel nice.' "
Jackson feels the same way about helping people decorate.
"Maybe they've lost their job or a parent or something else bad, but if I can make their home look nice... Sometimes all it takes is a gallon of paint or taking their sofa and pulling it out into the room. I do a little here and there, and they get tears in their eyes."
