im also undecided on how to decorate my walls. i really want my room to look sophisticated but at the same time very sensual. any ideas?

I am moving home to a modern house, and need some furniture that'll go, and look as classy as the house, despite being on a budget.. The main bedroom atm has one wall apinted silver and has a rich feel to it with mirrored furniture: however I don't want this, but I don't know what would go.. Any help? Links gain points ;)

Craigs list, estate sales, want ads, etc. (pot luck & be patient) or places like "Furniture for Less" (here in So. Cal) which offers big discounts by ordering direct from the manufacturer. Also you can google/yahoo search North Carolina furniture for links to order directly. The key is knowing what you want before you call or shop so you aren't overwhelmed. I suggest looking at catalogs like "Pottery Barn" or Dept. stores first. Be prepared to wait 6-8 weeks. We saved on taxes & price by ordering the very furniture we saw at a dept. store direct from "Hooker" but had to wait longer and pay for delivery. It was still worth it as we saved hundreds.

Almost any color, really.

I could see the walls in a deep non-metallic gold, or a paler shade like an old chamois cloth.

Or a sea green, pale turquoise, or deep sky blue.

A grey-tinged lavender, grey enough not to be girly.

If the room is large, a Chinese red, or a red with pink undertones.

Or classic white, with accessories in an intense color.

Sky's the limit, since your furniture colors are so basic.

I am in my last year of college and live with my parents, I plan on moving out when I have a stable career, hopefully in the next two years. I am looking for a nice bedroom set. It is so hard to find a bedroom set with a desk! Desks only seem to be offered in children sets. Also, it is hard to find a nice, twin-sized bed. I like the traditional style sets, such as this:

I think that style is so cute. I like the light wood and everything. I decided that if I have to, I will buy a desk separately and try to match it as close as possible to my set. However, I still cannot find a nice set with a twin size bed! Does anyone know of places that have these? Online stores, or actual stores are ok.

I have a small bedroom now so I can't go bigger than a twin :( It's ok..I will worry about a bigger bed when I get my own apartment

Just something to think about....if you're looking towards the future and getting your own place, perhaps you shouldn't worry too much about finding a desk that matches your bed. Get the bed that you really like. Think about something sleek and simple. When you have your own place, and room for a bigger bed, you can always use the single bed in a guest room. You probably will want your desk in another room, so think of a style that can work outside your bedroom. Any decorating scheme works better when you don't play matchy match with the furniture. Keep your eyes open at second hand stores or garage sales, maybe a small elegant table that you can use now for a desk, and down the road use it in your living room.
