Dining Design Furniture

Is there any way to make this work?

I'm not liking the white oak table with all the black pieces you have noted. I would choose a warmer wood color and then it would blend. The style of the table would work, just not the light color. Then the dark leather chairs would pull it together nicely with the rest of the look. Good choices though.

I'm making a dining table for friends and at one side of the table, I would like to make a bookcase between the legs. I have once seen a picture of a similar design but have lost it. Now, I'm looking for pictures or drawings to get inspiration and ideas on how to design it.

The only way I could picture that is if each of the 4 legs of the table were made of two pieces of wood, secured together at a 90 degree angle (sorry I don't know the best way to word this) and in the space produced by the two pieces that make each "leg", you put shelves in there and place books running up and down each corner, facing out, while the little shelves double as legs.

I have a 16ft x 14ft main living area in my new build house. The developer expects us to fit a dining room table and sofas etc in the house as the show house did but I cant seem to find furniture which fits this space. I currently have two large sofas in the room but would love a dining table. Is this necessary?

Everyone says Ikea, but all you will find at Ikea is overpriced items. Ebay may be a good start, but you may find unreliable people on there. More and more people are starting to buy furniture online (what don't we buy online nowadays!?). Like I said, Ikea is overpriced. Yes it has beautiful items, but not worth the money. You can find much better deals elsewhere.

We are remodeling our dining room and we have a hard ware store for the supplies but I have to travel an hour or more to a furniture store, is there a place i can go online to design my room and put stuff like table and chairs to match colors with before I go buy stuff?

Send for a free large fall J.C. Penney's catalog. Or go by one of their stores and pick up one. They now have beautiful furniture that you can buy and have delivered to your house. Here is their website:
