Derecktor introduces new four-stateroom layouts for Derecktor/Frers 45.5m

Few new vessels have a better pedigree than the 150-foot (45.5M) performance sailing yacht now awaiting a new owner at the Derecktor Connecticut shipyard. Germán Frers, the Argentine designer whose name is synonymous with some of the most famous racing sailboats in the world, provided the naval architecture for the project, while award-winning British superyacht designer John Munford created the interior concept.

Derecktor’s skilled craftsmen already have completed 90 percent of the work on the yacht’s next-generation aluminum alloy hull, and the keel is complete but not yet attached – ensuring a much faster-than- normal delivery timeframe for an interested buyer.

With her interior still an unfulfilled promise, the project is poised at the perfect moment for an owner to step in and set his or her stamp on this one-of-a-kind vessel – a spectacular-looking sloop that is equally suited to racing in the St. Barth’s Bucket, cruising in the Med and providing sterling charter service. To that end, Derecktor’s in-house design team has developed two new, four-stateroom layouts for the Frers 150 to supplement the original three-stateroom concept – providing owners with ultimate flexibility in customizing the project to suit their particular yachting lifestyle.

Shaker Furniture | Allegheny Office Supplies

Shaker furniture features a distinct furniture style that is widely admired due to its simplicity, functionality, innovative joinery, and good quality. This type of furniture was developed by the United Society of Believers in Christ Second Appearing, which is also known as Shakers. It is a religious group that is founded by James and Jane Wardley. The Shakers designs were reflective of the ascetic religious beliefs of the society. They made furniture pieces for their own use and for public consumption as well.

Many thought that the Shakers design originated from America but the truth is this religious sect originated from Manchester, England and only came to the US in 1774. The group was led by a woman named, Mother Ann Lee. These sets are simple yet classic pieces which are best appreciated in the finery of their styles. They haveĀ  all the characteristics that you would want a timeless furniture piece to have.

Today, collections of original pieces are being preserved by many art and historical museums in US and England. There are also a number of private institutions showcasing the brilliant designs. Most of the original shaker designs are still preserved today and are now being produced by reputable furniture manufacturers like Amish. Amish shaker furniture offers a great collection ranging from home and office furnishings.
