I have been dating the same idiot for 5 yrs. I think the last straw was when I had a major heart procedure and he didnt call my family, but called his ex and the boys to tell them I did good. They did not know I was having heart problems and as far as I am concerned it is not their business.
We went on vacation for 7 days and the day after we arrived home, his ex calls him on my phone at 7 am to chit chat about our vacation. It is none of her business. I could not believe he was discussing our trip with her.
He says she is a financial wizard, and he lets her do his taxes. He is 54 yrs old and still does not have his home paid for. He has no furniture, nothing nice. Its a dump and if she is so smart why does he live in such squalor? He should have something to show for working for over $100K a year for the last 20 yrs. I think he needs to wake up a little. She is a scam artist.
The list can go on and on.
She is re married. What do you think?
Tell him you do not want him discussing your business to her. and that you do not appreciate her calling him. and that he has to make a choice, between her or you, And that it is many places to do taxes. she is not the only person who can do it! Tell him he needs to wake up!

Ellen i have watched your show from day one .I truly enjoy your guest and your dancing.I was disabled in a car accident in 1997 and suffered major deformities in which i'll have to live with the remainder of my life because my insurance won't pay for the rest of my facial disabilities. After going through my accident my ex husband now commited adultry on me and i have to try and make a living on $769 a month. My car is on it's last foot and he ruined my credit so bad i can't afford to do anything but rent a home and used furniture.I wonder how many people are out there in this case i have to pay around on my bills the best way possible you can't even get a new car unless you draw $1550.00 or more a month. Is there any way you can have a show on this to let people know to never trust your best friends as to they will do you dirty.I trusted him with all my heart and soul and have prayed so hard for God to help me to even get me a mobile home i didn't have to rent and a new car .I need help

On August 7th my ex boyfriend will have been gone for 30 days from our rented home. He left everything. Furniture, clothes, etc. Some of which I dont want and some of which I would like to keep! THe qestion is after how long does this stuff become legally mine and I can do whatever I want with it and him not come back and sue me for the price of it? I dont want his clothes and thought about donating them to Goodwill but he didnt take any of them with him. He left a pool table that I would like to keep but could he come back in a couple of months and try to get it? What is the law with possession and ownership?? What are my options? He says he is coming to get it but has failed to show up!!!!
I live in the state of NC if that helps!!!!
send a certified letter to his address where he has to sign for it and state in the letter that he has ------ length of time to collect and or remove ALL his items and from that date all property will be disposed of as you see fit,.
you MUST check your local state laws on the length of time that you have to give him tho.
regards
I have an (ex) roomate, whose items are still here at my home.
He stayed with us, payed rent, bills, etc, for several months. His name isn't on the lease, just mine and the other roomate's. The last month before he left, he didnt pay rent, then after this time, he ended up having to spend 30 days in jail (or so we were told by him before he went in) it has been almost 3 months now, and none of my friends or the other roomate has heard from him at all, we are getting a new roomate finally b/c we cannot afford the expenses with the other not around.
Anyways, there is still an entire bedroom of his belongings at our home, and some misc. furniture, and I don't want to cause any legal issues if he does ever just show back up to claim them, what is the best way to remove his items or have them taken to, to avoid legal confrontation?
For the people that said send a letter, or e-mail. As far as I understand, we ARE his last known address, like, I don't have anything before us, other than his ex GF, and I dont even know where she is now (she recently left the area)
Also, we have no known e-mail or contact info for him, save his old cell phone, which seems to be disconnected.
One other thing, is there any other way to do it without putting an ad in the paper? Newspaper ads here are expensive, ($200+ for average ads) and something I cannot really afford.
Put an ad in the newspapers addressed to him and tell him he has 30 days to get his stuff out or it will be discarded and or sold. In the meantime you will need to store his stuff if you are to move in another rent paying room mate. Be sure to document your efforts to contact him, legal purposes concerning his belongings.

I'm not a lawyer, but it would not seem reasonable that you would be required to store the ex-roommate's stuff indefinitely, unless you made some kind of agreement with him to do so.
If I were in that situation, I would put the stuff up on craigslist, and get what I could for it. My guess is that the garage sale value of the stuff left behind doesn't equal the rent share he owed, or if it exceeds the rent, it barely exceeds the rent. If the roommate left behind something valuable, like a Stadivarius or Stratocaster, he would have been back to try to claim it.
I would document carefully the proceeds of the sale, and if it exceeded his debt to you, I would hold the excess in trust for a while (that is, don't spend it). Also document what efforts you made to contact him, when he left, what he paid or didn't pay, etc.
If he shows up at your door finally, you can hand him the balance, or a bill for what he still owes. If he takes you to court (REALLY unlikely, this sounds like a guy who is not very rigorous), you have all the documentation, showing that you acted reasonably.
And I would suggest changing the locks, by the way.
'So You Think You Can Dance' judge Mary Murphy reveals her 9-year history with ...
" So You Think You Can Dance " judge Mary Murphy says she suffered horrible sexual, physical and emotional abuse during her nine-year marriage.
Her ex-husband repeatedly raped and beat her, the 51-year-old ballroom dancing champion tells US Weekly in this week's issue.
Murphy's ex-husband, whose name was withheld by Us Weekly, has called the claims "flat-out lies." She alleges that the first rape took place three months into their marriage.
"We'd had another jealous fight, screaming, crashing over furniture, and he said, 'I want to have sex,'" Murphy told the magazine. "I was like, 'Are you kidding me?! We're fighting here!'
"He said, 'You're my wife, and you'll do what I tell you," she continued. "I pulled out a kitchen knife and screamed, 'You're going to have to stab me, because I'm not having sex with you!' He knocked it out of my hands, held me down and raped me."
After the alleged incident, fights were frequently followed by rapes, Murphy told Us.
