Where can I buy furniture from model homes in las vegas?
You won't. They just move the furniture to another model, unless the buyer negoiates to purchase it. Or it's returned to the rental place

We have been selling worldwide for 4 years. Recently opened a showroom to showcase our products. I have tried every form of advertising possible, but still cannot get right clientele to come in to see amazing and beautiful furniture. I am at a loss of what to do. I network 4 nights a week, website, trade shows, local newspaper has written editorial twice, postcards to upscale homes, blogs, brochures. I am off the beaten path, but still on a major road. Is there something I am missing?
Advertise to tourist and offer "Free shipping" so that they can look while in town, buy and then go home and have it come to their house, since most people fly there, they can not take furniture with them.
I would advertise in the free papers that are given out on the strip and downtown.
For locals, a TV commercial would do great.
Also, call the local newspaper and see if they want to do a story about your company, which will give you a good review and get your name out to people.
Moving from the Midwest to LA - for work, but it's Not absolutely a "permanent move" - could be 2-4 years.
We have an entire 3 bedroom house to move.
Not sure if the moving truck expenses would be more than the furniture is worth. Most of the furniture is a hodgepodge of very cool , but no so "expensive"antiques,found/ garage sale furniture and alot of sentimental stuff.
But we are debating if we should store the more personal items (or take with)and leave the house furnished and rent it out ...or move it all.
Thinking it may be more cost effective and sensible to furnish the LA place with furniture purchased in LA rather than haul it all to LA.
If anyone has made a similar move and words of advise either by what you did or in hindsight ?
Rememeber,We are thinking of renting out the Midwest home (possibly furnished), since the current economy won't support selling at this time
I'd say that it depends on how much furniture you have and how nice it is.
We moved from Missouri to Idaho about 3 years ago and it cost around $1500 to use a "You pack it, we haul it" company called Broadway Express. They were wonderful to work with, and everything arrived safely and on time.
For reference, we were moving from a 2 bedroom apartment, about 1000 square feet. Also, the company is based out of Illinois, if that makes any difference to you.

We live in Las Vegas- and bought a rocker/recliner from Walker Furniture-- they are charging us $49.00 for delivery. I will have the guys take the rocker up to my second story, and into my master bedroom. We live in a single family home- so there are no apartment access complications.
My question is, do I tip these guys, and if so, how much?
Thank you.
no cash tip........ask only if they want a cold drink like water
At the end of the month, my fiance and I are closing on our first home... a log home! Natural wooden walls, floors and wooden ceilings. ALOT of brown.
We were thinking of creating a "modern look" using modern furniture, really" LA style" tempered glass modern coffee table.. bright red sectional with a modern area rug for the living room.
Stainless steel or black appliances and grey slate tile in the kitchen, with again, a bright red rug near the foot of the sink to pop against the grey floor.
Is this foolish, should we decorate with a "traditional" rustic look instead? We are torn!
Thoughts and input on how you would decorate a log home would be most appreciated... thanks!
Classic modern furniture always looks good. Contrasting with the rustic home will work fine, and avoids the cliche of country rustic in rustic.
Also modern furniture (not contemporary) actually has a common design element with a log cabin. Each style emphasizes structural elements (exposed beams, logs, exposed chair frames) as design. Because of this core element, properly selected modern furniture can be very harmonious with the elements of a log cabin.
I would suggest that you consider oriental rugs rather than modern. These will add to the mix and make it all less rigid.
The important thing is to love what you select, and for it to be functional. For a timeless look, I would also suggest classic modern over contemporary. Consider Barcelona, Eames or Wassily chairs and a Nogucci coffee table. Good online sources are dwr.com, and italydesign.com
Have fun and good luck!

Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | LA Times Home & Garden Roundup ...
The popularity of Guitar Hero only underlines the collective dream we all have of being a rock star and the lavish lifestyle that goes along with it. In its occassional feature on the homes of music personalities, the Los Angeles Times checks out the home recording studio of will.i.am. and, on the eve of a furniture auction to benefit the Streisand Foundation, talks to the legendary star about her vast furniture collection. For something that's more within the reach of the rest of us (especially those of us who live in Southern California), there's a look at an indoor/outdoor office and a line of furniture that holds up to whatever a kid or a dog can spill on it. Looks like dreams can come true...
