I need to sell some furniture (sofa, chairs, tables etc) but need a company who can come to my home, assess the products and make me an offer for them. The company must also be able to collect.
good question...Try Govem and Harp. Or Slatter n Finch. These two have been running for about 25 years. Both can be found on the net. Just type in the names and go google i guess. Took all my stuff and even moved it for free. I even bought some stuff from them. A bit like swapping old junk, but we were both as happy as larry.

I can't count how many times I've looked through the IKEA website!
I would appreciate some good suggestions about other retailers I could look at that supply home furniture that isn't the cheapest nor the most expensive, and isn't likely to break down in a few years.
(Not John Lewis or Deben-something)
Actually that depends whether it's a coat hanger or a bed i'm buying. But overall, just good places (preferably with a website) that sell furniture worth the money.
Thanks!!!
We are trying to hire a van to move home furniture but my parter and I can only drive automatics. We live in North London but I am looking to hire from anywhere in London. All the sites I have looked at so far only provide manual vans. Please help!! Thanks S :)

I'm pregnant with twins (17 weeks) and we're moving not long before the twins are due. We're moving from London to Berlin. We've decided to buy everything when we buy the new furniture for the house but we aren't sure what would be needed for a set of new born twins.

mps' expenses: Legg inquiry is too lenient, warns Labour MP
He told The Daily Telegraph : “People are rightly asking why certain MPs have not had to pay back money for certain things and that seems to be because Sir Thomas has not been consistent or strict enough. The idea that he has been unfair is an absurdity.
“Someone who has paid back money on something they did in good faith will be looking at those who have maximised the allowances by ducking and diving in the property market and ask where the consistency is.
“Capital gains tax is a big issue and that is certainly something he should look at as it will not go away in the future either.”
John Bercow, the Speaker, was also forced to deny reports that he had twice urged Sir Thomas to drop his plan for caps on cleaning and gardening expenses but was rebuffed. His spokesman said he did support backdated caps.

Fleet MP told to repay more than £12000 - News - gethampshire
BILLS for swimming pool cleaning, a barbecue, a summerhouse, gardening and mortgage interest claimed by the area’s MPs on expenses will have to be returned to the taxpayer, it was revealed this week.
MPs representing people across the News & Mail area have received letters from Sir Thomas Legg, who has been investigating their expense claims over the summer.
All but one have agreed to disclose the items they were being asked to repay.
Gerald Howarth, MP for Aldershot, Farnborough and Yateley, initially refused to discuss the contents of his letter but later issued a statement detailing the demands.
Another, Fleet MP James Arbuthnot, disclosed the details and said he had offered to repay £1,000 more than has been requested.
Camberley and Ash MP Michael Gove, who has already paid back £7,000 for furniture and a hotel stay, was told no further action was needed, while Farnham MP Jeremy Hunt was asked for ‘further information’.
Sandhurst and Crowthorne MP Andrew MacKay, who is standing down at the next general election after claiming for a second home, despite not living in his constituency, refused to comment on his letter.
