Why use a game when you can use the same tool that Interior Designers actually use to create floor plans for their customers? Go to http://www.stickleyaudi.com and click on the Room Planner link at the top of the page. That will open a new page that has instructions and videos on using the floor planning tool. You can look through actual furniture styles to put in your floor plan. When you're done, you can email it to your friends and family. It's really easy and a lot of fun. Enjoy!
I have to write a paper in English and basically make a presentation for a panel of judges. I picked that I will create a new home design for a sub division for my "job" and I need to know how to go about creating this?
I would first draw a floor plan for your new home design...Be sure to include some neat features that you would want to include in your home.....then, in your paper, describe the floor plan with all of these neat features. Pretend you are talking to a potential buyer and are trying to sell them this house. The more that you can describe about these neat features, the better your paper will be!!!!

I think I got a great deal on a new build home. Now it's time for the landscape, wiring, and design center appointments. I'm cool in all areas except the design center. Light fixtures, faucets, etc, I can do myself. Is it smart to upgrade the counter tops, cabinets, sinks, etc (major items)? The costs of these items are rolled into the price of the home at closing. OR should I wait until my finances permit and do them myself? The only thing I'm sure on upgrading is the carpet pad.
Kitchen and bath upgrades (especially master bath) are key resale selling points. Also crown molding in the primary living areas is a big plus. Good luck.
I just recently purchached 3D Home Architech and it seems really cheap and it limits you to only 3 different shapes of houes. I need a home deigning software that will let me design houses with multiple shapes(not like circular shapes), but I want to atleast have the ablity to design a house with an alcove on the front of the house where a porch goes... 3D H.A. doesn't even have that shape. I also would like a software that will hip a roof for me and give me all the lengths of the rafters.

I use Home Designer Suite 6.0, and it does all I need it to do. I did check into getting the professional version of chief architect, but decided it was not worth th upgrade for what I use it for. They offer a demo of the upgrade, it might be worth your asking them to send it to you. Go to the BHG.com website and it should take you there. You can also go direct to www.chiefarchitect.com.
I paid about $99.00 for the Home Designer Suite 6.0. I think the professional version of chief architect is somewhere under $500.00. , I could be wrong about price. I am certain about their demo.
