I am looking for very large dogs only .. (Prefer Danes!)
I dont mind paying whatever the adoption fees are as long as it is reasonable.. $100 +/- .. I own a large home with a decent sized fenced in back yard.. plenty of room to run. I have 2 labs, so, they must get along well with other dogs. Mix breeds are ok.
I dont mind travelling for paperwork or doggy pickup. Anywhere from eastern PA to Maine is acceptable.
Prefer the dog to be no older than 3 or 4 years.
I am not interested in any kind of pricey AKC champion whatever breeds..
Am I a puppy mill .. ? No .. the chinese food place next door just wants more value for my dollar.
Seriously, I am tall, prefer dogs I dont have to bend over to give some attention to.. and all the danes I have met have had a great disposition. Very laid back kind of breed.
go to petfinder.com.....this is a site for rescue groups.....just enter your Zip code, and enter breed wanted, and be AMAZED at how many GREAT choices you have !!.....i recently adopted a Great Pyrenees mix from them, and my dog Sylvester is awesome !!......check it out.....try it.....adopt a Great Dane today !!!......good luck to you, in your search for a Great Dane as a new pet !!!!.....most adoptions run between $ 50 to $ 200 maximum, for a wonderfull dog, who will be very happy to be your new pet !!!

my sister is not rich, and would like not to pay outstanding fee's. Any help out there?
Thanks much
have your sister check with her vet. office or any pet stores in your area and check the phone book. I got alot of my clients from my vets. recommendations to his clients owners. i lived about 1.5hrs. from Tahoe and even did pet sitting in Reno,Nv.
make sure that your sister asks for references and have the sitter come over to meet pet so you can see how sitter is with animals and if the animal likes her.
my fee was $30.00 a night for 1-2 dogs and $5.00 for each additional dog per night. believe me i had people with 5 dog or more and other animals. i charged according, some had horses,an iguana, pot belly pig to name a few.
I have 2 dogs both multese x and i need to find them a new home as i am going over seas. Im not asking for a price, just that they go togther to a nice home/family. where do i look or advertise this?
Since they are not purebreds, look for a local humane society shelter that does not have time limits on how long they hold their dogs - that will keep them available for adoption as long as they are healthy and not aggressive. Go on www.petfinder.com and look for humane societies near you. Check out their facilties and ask about their policies. If you feel comfortable, place them there. They will be able to do a better job of advertising your dogs for adoption and they will screen prospective owners to find a good home.
If you do try to place them yourself, always charge at least a small fee and ask lots of questions about their living circumstances. Collectors and others who do not have good intentions (such as those collecting dogs for lab research) will sometimes pose as prospective owners to get dogs.
ill share my recipe with you
lightly cook some minced beef, pork, or chicken, add some "frozen veges packet", and boil some rice, or pasta, then stick it in the blender for just a few seconds to mix it up
Dogs Need New Home
Twenty-one dogs from a so called puppy mill are up for adoption in Schuylkill County. The SPCA hopes people will open their hearts and homes to the four-legged friends.
The dogs at the Hillside SPCA near Pottsville seem to be happy. The SPCA believes the only human contact the dogs had in the past was being caged in a so-called puppy mill.
"They were hungry, cold, dirty, unwanted," said Cindy Vidal of the SPCA.
"We got them in at one time which is stressful enough for us sometimes and the other dogs. It's so sad for them," said Sara Thorne of the Hillside SPCA.
A puppy mill is a place where dogs are bred in large numbers. The dogs were given up by a puppy mill owner, facing new stricter state regulations.
"So rather than complying, if it's too much expense or too much work, they would rather just turn the animals over," explained Janine Hoplick of the Hillside SPCA.
The 21 dogs will soon be available for adoption.
