If you have that type of experience, I would apply at Lowe's. I used to work for The Home Depot in Southern California and being in the specialty department I only made $12.50/hr. That was a few months ago.
Since THD and Lowe's are competitors, you can bargain with HR or your hiring manager or asm. THD was an OK place to work overall, nothing bad to say but I needed more money, something they could not do. Good Luck!

This is for a large bed room, about 270 sq ft. (26*11). Where is the best carpet installation place in Westchester, New York?
I got a quote from a local carpet place in Mt. Kisco, NY. The name is Suburban Floor. Does any one know this store's reputation? They gave me a quote for $1,270, which includes removal the existing carpet and install new carpet, Mohawk brand, Sensational styple, 40 oz synthetic hair and jute padding. Is this a good price? Can I use the existing padding? If I do, the price would reduce by $100.
Should I look into other companies such as Empire today, Home Depot and Lows? Any other suggestions?
Also, the carpet is about 6 years old. What is the average year that bed room carpet should be replaced?

I need to buy a belt-drive pressure washer, around 3,500~4,000 psi. Home depot doesn't have any kind of that machine. Ebay has some, buy I don't want to do shipping and i'd like to buy them in person. Anyone knows if there is any local commercial equipment company selling that kind of pressure washer in New York or New Jersey?
Have you ever heard of the make Kranzle thay have distributers all over the world and i know of a couple in the states. we are Kranzle dealers in the UK. They are very reliable and powerful pressure washers. They do not work on a belt drive system pureley becasue they are slightly un reliable. If you google or yahoo kranzle you should be able to find a dealer in your local are.

Well... $100 might not do. lol
2 sheets per wall x 4 walls = 8 (4x8 standard) sheets at $22 for pine 3/4 or so is $176. That's without a floor or ceiling if you don't have those.
If you're mixing up plywood with OSB (chipboard) then you can just use OSB for just under $10 per sheet and spend probably $80 or so. Prices vary on location, I must add.

The big box stores generally don't have the experienced staff of smaller, owner-run mom and pops. For this very reason, my father always goes to the same hardware store and pays a little more for his purchases. The owners are there to help him, as they have been for 30 years. I don't quite have such a relationship with a local Brooklyn hardware store, but I have had these good experiences:
First, at Sid's Hardware . The hardware department (you know, nuts, bolts, etc.) has time and again helped me mull over the proper fasteners for projects around the house, unearthed old boxes of brass screws to match existing ones I brought in, and treated me with patience when I was picky beyond understanding.
Second, when in need of paint or refinishing supplies, the paint man (sorry I don't know your name) at Bruno's True Value Home Center on Court Street has routinely been helpful and knowledgeable....
