new construction/ remodeling construction co. NEED A WITTY NAME!!?

I am starting into my own business this spring. I do new home construction/ remodeling. Decks, windows, doors, siding, additions, pole barns, ect.
I have been using a name for some time now, but when I went to inc. it the name was in use. My initials are R.N. I live in Northern Michigan right on the bay of Lake Michigan. Please help. I have until March 1st!!

Building is such a field inhabited by scoundrels, I wouldn't trust a witty name, either. I'd want to hire a builder that used his own full name in the business name, because that's what you're really hiring when you hire a contractor - the guy behind the name. I figure someone that uses assumed business names in construction is probably mortgaged to the hilt, has filed bankruptcy before, or otherwise has a tarnished name, or he'd be proudly flying his own, instead. If you have a good reputation, be proud of your own good name.

How come illegal immigrants are allowed to work on construction sites?

A company is building a church not to far from my house, and 95% of the workers are hispanics. I know many come to Michigan, congregate in rented homes, some return home while others remain here illegally. However what happened to american construction workers? Are they losing their jobs to illegals who are willing to work for much less?
How come every nut thinks if you are against illegal immigration you are a racist?
De La Mare: You like a lot of people are missing the major issue when it comes to illegal immigration. It is illegal. These people are committing a crime by being here. It's nice and dandy to spin the "We want a better life too"

I want more more money in my bank account. So it is acceptable to obtain the funds illegal just because I want a better life? I think not....

Illegal aliens who are working in the U.S. are doing so in one of two ways: they are either working off the books and paid in cash, or they are using a false or stolen. social security number.

Many americans are either losing their jobs or seeing their wages diminish as a result of illegal aliens. Salary is all about supply and demand. WHen the supply of workers is high, the salary goes down. There are an estimated 12 to 20 million illegal aliens in the U.S, who dilute the labor market and keep wages down for the entry level, lower skilled, and manual jobs.

West Michigan Building In-Home Recording Studio?

I am planning on building a recording studio in my house. I need to know quite a bit of information. My father is a carpenter so he will be doing part of the construction, but the other part I'm sure will have to be done by professionals. My question to all of you is.......

1. What are the costs that I'm looking at with the equipment and sound proof room and such. I'm new to the recording industry. My budget is between 30-50 grand.

2. Is there anyone in west michigan that has a setup crew that could do the wiring/equipment setup or that specializes in this field of work?

3. Any additonal information or advice would be greatly, appriciated. Thank you everyone.

Some good info on the basic equipment needed to build a home recording studio is located here.

What are Wal-Mart's effect on home sale values?

I currently live in a doublewide trailer built in '88 or '89. I am planning to sell and move into a house in town, however, the main reason for my moving is that Wal-Mart has began building a new Super Center in my backyard.

Approximately one hundred and fifty feet behind my home will be the main entry. I am under the impression that a restaurant of some type will be directly out my back door. The Wal-Mart itself will be about three hundred to four hundred feet away, but still a visible eyesore. We are unsure what type of "wall" they will be building, but it won't be tall enough, whatever it is made of, to block passersby from seeing our back porch.

We live in Livingston County, Michigan, in a bedroom community. Assuming the home is valued at around twenty thousand dollars, what are my chances of selling? Could I get more than the appraised value? Should I wait for the construction to finish before putting it on the market? Should I sell it myself, or use an agent?
The property is a rental property. I pay four hundred and twenty five dollars in rent a month which covers all taxes. I pay for my own electricity, water, and gas. I expect this land to be sold in the future but I want to move before that happens, fearing that I will be forced to move the trailer with little warning or want to do as such. Meijers already has their property on the other side of the highway and most other companies are waiting to see how Wal-Mart does here before moving in.
Being that this is a bedroom community, a lower valued home, like this trailer will sell quickly, that much I know. We are growing at an alarming rate, contrary to most places in the area. We live equal driving distances from Lansing, Ann Arbor, and Detroit.

Well it seems that your property will have to be purchased by Wal-Mart or whoever has the rights to the development. Even if the current plans don't fit the need to use your property, eventually other large retailers are going to be moving in, and your property will be demanded.

This means whoever wishes to buy your property, whether it be Wal-Mart or say Taco Bell for example, will pay you a nice premium on what your property is really worth. You may get a bid for up to $80,000 for your land.

So your chances of selling are extremely high. Hold out for a little while, but not too long. You will see interest in your land increasing and when it starts to hit its peak, then sell. As for getting a real estate agent, that will be useless. You are in a situation where only a complete bonehead wouldn't be able to make this transaction.

Michigan Hopes For Bounce Back Vs. Delaware St - Sports News Story ...

ANN ARBOR, Mich -- Brandon Graham promises he won't overlook Delaware State.

The Michigan defensive end and many of his teammates made that mistake two years ago when they lost to another team from the second tier of college football, infamously getting stunned at home by Appalachian State.

It happened again last year during a school-record, nine-loss season that hit rock bottom when Toledo became the first Mid-American Conference team to beat the Wolverines.

The Hornets (1-3) play in the same Football Championship Subdivision as Appalachian State, but they're not on the same level. This season, Delaware State seems to be an average team from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with its only win coming against Hampton.

Michigan (4-2) is coming off a pair of emotionally charged games on the road -- losses to Iowa and Michigan State -- and coach Rich Rodriguez acknowledged being worried about whether his players can get fired up to face the Hornets.
