Can anyone give me an approximate average cost on utilities for a 3-4 bedroom home in Toronto? Heat, electricity, water. I'm thinking of buying a home and would like some of these additional numbers in mind when looking.
Can anyone give me an approximate average cost on utilities for a 3-4 bedroom home in Toronto? Heat, electricity, water. I'm thinking of buying a home and would like some of these additional numbers in mind when looking. There will mostly be only two people living in the house.
Ask your realtor to request past ulitilty bills on houses that you are interested in. That will be the most accurate information.
However: 100 year old 5 bedroom house, has some improvements, needs more, lived in by 4 adults.
Hydro - around 100-120 per month
Gas heat and hot water - average 250 per month
Water and sewage - about 60 per month
We can improve on the gas bill a bit, but not much on the others.

I live in Toronto, Canada and am considering the purchase of my first home. Mortgage rates are low, and I've heard that it's a buyer's market. Should I wait for mortgage rates and real estate prices to drop even further, or should I go ahead and buy?
I've found the perfect little place but am a bit hesitant. Will the market become even better for buyers?
I think it is important to be ready but it's unrealistic to wait until you are completely out of debt, many people have student loans and car payments and manage a home with absolutely no problems. Especially with the market being so good right now if you purchase a house you should be able to build a lot of equity as the market rebounds giving you a lot of options.
When I purchased my home I had student debts and a car payment and after I owned my house for a few years I consolidated the debt into my mortgage and paid it down faster. I could not have done that if I didn't own my own home. As for waiting for a better deal I recently saw a great article that I think you would be interested in. I've been searching online for a home based job but soo far all opportunities online require to pay a fee and I do not trust those (scams) looking for something in Toronto?
Hi!
If you want to make money online, from the comfort of your own home, you’ve got to be very careful. There are lot of scams on the internet, so you have to watch out.
On the other hand, check my blog. I make some good part-time money online but I had to try out many programs and systems. Now I focus on just a few of them, I work this way about two hours a day and for now I am making about $900 a month (I’ve been using my systems 3 - 4 months now, and made almost nothing the first month). But it is slowly expanding, and if I keep working the way I work now, I think I could be making $3.000 - $5.000 a month at the end of this year.
But, if you are serious about making money online, you have to know that nothing gets you nothing! You have to put some work in it and you have to invest some money for starters. For instance, I love working with GDI, and it is a system than can make you up to $4.000 a month + some big bonuses, but you have to pay for web hosting $10 monthly. I know it is hard in the beginning but I think that many other sites, that offer thousands a month without spending a single dime, are scam. So you have to be certain that you really want to work online when you start, otherwise you’d be throwing away your money.
So, what programs do I use? As I said, I love my GDI, it makes me the most money. There is also Increase Your Portion (new, but promising, just started making me more than $100), there is also a very educational SpiderWeb Marketing System. For my affiliate marketing I use Maverick Money Makers systems and it also made me some real money, so I’ll keep learning from it because this is something like a small money making university, with new lessons each month.
I put all my systems with detailed info and explanations, videos also, on a blog site so that my friends could start also. I’ll give you a link in my source so that you can check it out. Hope you’ll start making some online money soon. Good luck!
We are want to travel for a year and rent our home to an executive or professional couple that is responsible and needs to work in north Toronto for a year. Any suggestions where to start?
Thanks for the advise. I was hoping to connect with some sort of corporate resource that specializes in this. I had no luck with realtors.
List it with a realtor. Executive couples don't spend their time on Craigslist. The realtor will deal with credit check and can also act as a property manager (collecting rent and able to act if there is a problem with the furnace, etc.). The listing will cost one months rent, property management needs to be negotiated.
I need the information to use in a project. The main information I need is about the total number of restaurants in Toronto, how many do home delivery, how may orders are processed every day, etc...

Turkoglu looks to impress home crowd | The Toronto Observer
The all-star forward, who made his Raptors debut in the club’s 106-90 loss to the Boston Celtics [4-1] on Wednesday, will be looking to get better acquainted with his new teammates in Sunday’s rematch between the two teams at the Air Canada Centre [3 p.m. ET].
Turkoglu has played in just 45 minutes so far in the preseason due to his finals appearance with the Orlando Magic and a stint with his native Turkey in the European Basketball Championships this past summer.
“I’m feeling much better every day, and I think practicing with them and playing games is really going to help me out to feel more comfortable on the court, and feeling the atmosphere and getting to know my teammates,” he said after the Raptors 124-112 loss to the Houston Rockets on Thursday.
”I’m happy to be out there with them and hopefully we’ll all be in the best shape we can before the season starts.”
Knowing Turkoglu will play a major part in how the team’s season unfolds, Raptors head coach Jay Triano is keeping a keen eye on how much court time the nine-year veteran will receive in the club’s final two preseason games.
