Eight killed in North Carolina nursing home rampage?

Seven patients and a nurse were killed during a Sunday morning shooting at a Carthage, North Carolina, nursing home. The man accused of carrying out the attack was shot by a police officer, and his condition is currently unknown. The police officer was shot in the leg and was treated and released. The slain patients ranged in age from 78 to 98. The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Robert Stewart, faces eight counts of murder and one count of felony assault on a police officer.

Can yal please give me your opinions on this event. Thank you.

Guns don't kill people. People with guns kill people.
This horrible event simply drives home the point yet again for much more stringent gun control, especially in the United States.

North Carolina verizon cell phone calling New York home-phone costs?

I live in North Carolina i have a Verizon Cellphone.
If I call my cousin who lives in NewYork on her home-phone DURING THE WEEKEND is it still free?
like free weekends?
or is that only mobile to mobile?

Well, it depends on your plan details.

You would not pay long distance charges, as those do not apply with cell phones. However, if your plan is free weekends to mobile numbers only, well-that is going to cost. Generally, though, free nights and weekends means to any domestic (not international) number and it would not cost you anything more.

I would certainly call Customer Service and verify, though, to avoid any surprises.

If your name is put on the deed and trust can the other party put you out of the home in North Carolina?

Both you and your boyfriend purchase a home you are not on the loan just the Deed & trust in the state of North Carolina. Both names are on deed and trust.

Part of the answer depends on how your names are listed on the Deed. In North Carolina there are two ways to own property jointly with someone to whom you are not married: either as tenants in common or Joint Tenancy by the entirety.
The first means each of you own half of the house and could sell your "half" to anyone you like. Fairly rare in residential properties, especially if only one of you is on the loan.
the other, Joint Tenancy by the entirety is the same as if you were married at the time you bought the house - that is, each of you owns a "half" interest in the house, but that interest cannot be sold to a third party. Additionally, if one of you were to die, the other would automatically own the entire property without going through probate.
While that doesn't really answer your question, it sounds like you need to sit down with an attorney and your boyfriend and discuss whether you should be "bought out" and for how much, then you could sign a quit claim deed and be releaed from ownership and future liability, i.e. property taxes, water and sewer bills, etc.

Is there a license required to breed and sell mice in North Carolina from home?

I am interested in breeding and selling mice as feeders and as pets in Chapel Hill, NC. A store that I used to work for was the only one in the area that sold them as feeders and it shut down more than a year ago. I want to allow people to contact me and buy them directly from me at home and I am just wondering if there is anything special that I need to do or if it is legal to do it with nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need a business license. You might want to contact your local humane society to make sure you can meet any standards they might have.

How do I dispose of an abandoned mobile home in North Carolina?

Tenant abandoned mobile home on our property 2 years ago. We do not have the title and cannot locate the tenant. How do we get the title? Once we have the title, how do we remove? Please do not respond with answers like: call a lawyer, or call a salvage company. I am looking for specifics like: file a petition with the dmv or whoever, send notice that we intend to remove the property to last know address of tenant, etc. Thanks.

There is such a thing as a bonded title also a mechanical lien which can get you a title. I don't know how it is in NC but in Tn You can apply for a title after 1 year I would check my alternatives at the County Court Clerk or whatever branch of Gov. it is called in NC good luck
